Accessibility Statement
accessibility.chat is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities. We continually work to improve the user experience and apply the relevant accessibility standards.
Conformance Standard
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Measures We Take
- 18px root font size with minimum ~16px for all text site-wide (no text smaller than text-sm at 0.875rem)
- Color contrast ratios targeting WCAG AA (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
- Visible focus indicators for all keyboard-interactive elements
- Semantic HTML with proper heading hierarchy
- Skip navigation link on every page
- ARIA landmarks (banner, navigation, main, contentinfo) on all pages
- Descriptive alt text for informative images; decorative images properly marked
- External links indicate when they open in a new window
- Support for reduced motion preferences
- Support for high contrast mode
- Keyboard-accessible interactive elements including our chat widget
AI-Generated Content
Our articles are generated by AI analysts and pass through a 6-stage editorial review pipeline before publication. Each article includes a transparency disclosure identifying the AI analyst and their analytical lens. We enforce accessible content standards in our generation process, including proper heading hierarchy (H2 and H3 only), descriptive link text, and fact-checked external links.
Known Limitations
Despite our efforts, some content may not yet be fully accessible. In particular:
- Some older articles may contain heading hierarchy issues that predate our current editorial standards
- Third-party embedded content (images from Pexels, the language translation widget) may have accessibility gaps outside our direct control
- Color contrast in code blocks uses standard light-on-dark patterns but may not meet AAA requirements in all cases
