Digital Accessibility Commitment & Conformance
accessibility.chat is dedicated to ensuring digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities, targeting WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance.
Conformance Standard
We conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, and exceed it on the criteria where doing so costs the reader nothing: contrast, target size and focus appearance are all held to Level AAA. We do not claim Level AAA overall — several of its criteria, such as 1.4.8 Visual Presentation, are not met, and the conformance report says which.
Measures We Take
Each of these was measured in a real browser on 31 August 2026, not asserted from the source. Where a claim could not be backed by a measurement, it is not on this list. The Accessibility Conformance Report records what is still untested.
- A root type size set as a percentage, so a reader who has raised the default text size in their browser keeps it. Body text never falls below 16px.
- Text contrast at 7:1 or better — WCAG AAA, not AA — on every page tested, and 3:1 on the icons and field borders that carry meaning alone.
- A visible focus indicator on every focusable control: a 3px outline, verified across 314 tab stops on 11 pages.
- Semantic HTML with one h1 per page and no skipped heading levels, verified on every page.
- A skip link on every page, and a second one inside the Luke workspace that skips the chat history.
- One banner, navigation, main and contentinfo landmark per page — no duplicates, each reachable by the skip link.
- Descriptive alt text for informative images; decorative images hidden from assistive technology.
- The operating system’s reduced-motion and increased-contrast settings both honoured, and Windows High Contrast rendered correctly.
- Every control at least 44 by 44 CSS pixels unless it is a link inside a sentence — WCAG AAA target size, not the AA minimum.
- No two-dimensional scrolling at 320 CSS pixels wide, which is the 400% zoom case.
Luke Tool Coverage
Luke is a free screening and triage assistant. Depending on the request and available evidence, it combines source-linked conversation, deterministic document checks, veraPDF PDF/UA validation, and four labeled web passes: Axe, Aberio, Luke Lens, and Web Audit Lite.
